DPX
Introducing the Deputi Sounds DPX Kontakt instrument. This instrument was created by sampling a vintage DMX in the highest quality possible. The DPX gives you the freedom to use one of the most legendary drum machines in music history in your DAW!
We think you’ll be blown away by the unique and expressive ways this machine can generate fresh and unlimited new ideas by using DMX’s DISRUPT™ feature. By hitting Disrupt™, the DMX's parameters will shift and generate something completely new and musically inspiring!
Presets & Disrupt Examples
Disrupt
If you’re skeptical about randomization, we totally get it! Unlike other randomization features haphazardly added to music gear in times past, we programed DISRUPT™ to stay within a musically contextual and useful range- (no more unusable and non-musical results!) With Disrupt™, your sound sources, pitches, envelopes, FX sends, FX presets & parameters all morph into a new soundscape... yielding sound design discoveries that would have historically taken hours to create! As always, your pattern, volume level settings, and master controls will stay where you set them, ensuring you never lose the groove!
Sequencer
The DPX has a 32 step sequencer that allows you to input note, velocity and pitch information per step. The sequencer defaults at 16 steps but can be switched to 32. It also includes controls for latch, clear, number of bars, grid type as well as copy & paste functions.
Parameters
The master section allows for parameter changes of the sound selection, level, tuning and envelope for each drum sound. All of these parameters can be controlled by host automation, or disrupt buttons.
FX Section
The extensive effects section has over 60 high quality reverb impulse responses as well as 5 delay modeling engines. Each drum sound has it's own reverb and delay send knob.

DMX
The DMX, a programmable digital drum machine that was produced in 1980 (following the success of the LM-1), became one of the most iconic drum machines of the 1980s and was widely used in many hit records of the decade! As one of the first drum machines to use digital samples of acoustic drums, it featured twelve individual drum sounds including a kick, snare, open and closed hi-hats, crash and ride cymbals, and various toms and congas. These sounds were 8-bit samples, which provided a higher level of realism compared to the analog drum machines available at the time. Its punchy kick and snappy snare became staples of early hip hop and electro tracks, and was also embraced by various other genres, from pop to rock to R&B. This machine featured a programmable step sequencer, and its sounds could be individually tuned and mixed, providing a good deal of flexibility. The DMX's distinctive sound has had significant influence on popular music, along with a lasting impact that can still be heard in music today!
